Counselling Approach – Customizable Support for your Unique Needs
I believe in a diversified approach because each person is different. As a result, I work from a combination of perspectives that include Family Systems, Cognitive, Experiential and Transpersonal orientations. That means that my therapy targets thinking, feeling and doing. You will be asked questions about your past in order to determine how it may relate to your current situation. I excel at helping you to discover patterns in your life that are not effective, to look at the beliefs that drive your life patterns, and to explore new options. I invite emotional risks where you will reveal thoughts, feelings, and/or experiences that you might not normally share with others.
Rather than simply ‘talking through’ an issue, you may be invited to participate in an exercise designed to help you achieve a new experience, or a new way of seeing or dealing with the issue.
My therapeutic philosophy is transpersonal, which means that I operate from a non-religious but spiritual paradigm. In essence, I believe that human beings are more than their personal histories and life experiences, and as such have tremendous potential for growth.
My Unique Qualifications
My private practice began in 2009. I have a Diploma in Transpersonal Counselling Psychology from Clearmind International Institute and I am registered as a Master Therapeutic Counsellor and Registered Counselling Supervisor. I was an instructor at Clearmind International (a counsellor training program) from 2011-2020.
